It’s 25 years since the Oscar-winning behemoth Titanic, staring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, first appeared on our screens.
The story of the doomed ocean liner, which set sail from our very own Belfast and sank on its maiden voyage in 1912, was well known 80 odd years after the disaster. In the decades following the disaster it featured in dramas across film screen, TV and radio, but it was the James Cameron directed epic that really cemented the story in modern minds.
All the more impressive considering the leading lights, DiCaprio and Winslet, were just 23 and 22 respectively at the time of the movie release.
